About

Hong Kong-born pianist, violinist, and composer Vivian Kwok is known for her versatility and active engagement in the creation of new music. Over the past four years, Vivian has premiered over 40 works and collaborated with no fewer than 20 composers. She is a winner of the 2021 University of Toronto Winds Concerto Competition and has also left a memorable presence at the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival, the Alberta College Fall Music Festival, and the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. As a composer, she has written for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, UofT Opera, Bedford Trio, M.E. LaZerte High School concert band, and Concreamus Chamber Choir. Vivian holds an undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Piano Performance and Composition, in the studios of Jamie Parker and Abigail Richardson-Schulte. She is continuing her graduate studies at the University of British Columbia, studying with Corey Hamm.

Rates and Policies

  1. REGISTRATION FEE

  2. INSTRUCTION OPTIONS

    • 30 minute private lesson 

    • 45 minute private lesson 

    • 60 minute private lesson

    • Travel Charge​

  3. CANCELLATION POLICY

Lessons canceled within 24 hours without a valid reason will be charged. This does not apply to travel fees unless the notice is given at the door and the teachers have traveled to the location. ​

   4. ILLNESS / VACATION POLICY 

A maximum of three make-up lessons are permitted and can be rescheduled each school year (Sept - June) due to illness or emergency. Students need to notify the school and the teacher two weeks in advance if going on a vacation or extended absence to avoid extra charges. The vacation policy does not apply during summer breaks. 

   5. TRIAL PERIOD 

Students can try out two lessons to see if it is a great fit. We value teachers' valuable time and effort, so there will not be a free trial lesson, it will be charged. After the two trial lessons, all policies start getting effect and students will be billed in terms.
